Texas Oilman’s Charity Invitational Fishing Tournament (TOCIFT) will be holding its 2022 event in Matagorda, Texas on July 14, 15 & 16. Since the first event held in June 2002, it has become known as a world class charity event donating proceeds totaling $7.3M to various regional charities. This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the support of many sponsors and volunteers from the oil and gas industry and local support in the Gulf Coast area.
We would like to take this opportunity to ask you to contribute to this year’s event and be recognized by your peers. Each evening, door prizes and raffle prizes are awarded. On the last evening of the event a Live Auction is held. All contributors/sponsors are recognized in the Live Auction brochure, on banners in the tent and in the annual newsletter, which is published after the event. This year we anticipate approximately 600 people will attend, including fishermen, guests, and volunteers/workers.
You may contribute to our event in the following ways:
- Door prizes: Must have a minimum value of $100 and can include items of a hunting, fishing or golfing nature.
- Raffle Buckets/Live Auction: Raffle Buckets have a minimum value of $500 and Live Auction items a value of $1,000 or more. Some items you may want to consider donating: hunting & fishing equipment, wildlife art, antiques, golf clubs, guided hunting and fishing trips, shop equipment, etc.
- Cash/Check Donations: Door prizes, raffle items or auction items will be purchased in your name.
We thank all of you who have supported TOCIFT in the past and hope that you will participate again this year. Please encourage others to become a part of this charitable event. We need everyone’s support in order to better serve the charities that need our support.
If you want to donate, please send the item or check to:

The mission of TOCIFT is to help those who cannot help themselves. The Directors, all from various aspects of the oilfield services community, are committed to this goal. Since our 2002 inaugural tournament, we have donated $7.1 million to various charities. This
year the tournament netted $248,000 and of this amount $226,000 was distributed to 29 charities. We are proud of our accomplishments, and as a result of the continued support by our many company and, private sponsors, we have been able to grow the event beyond our expectations.
Our 2019 tournament had 876 people participating; including 511 fishermen, 24 tent table sponsors, and a vast number of guests and local

It’s too bad there is no prize for smallest catch at the Texas Oilman’s Charity Invitational Fishing Tournament. Dustin Robison from Evolution Well Services would surely have won!
I opened my Fishbrain app at the tournament to see if any of our competitors were posting, and I was sure surprised to see this little dude staring back at me. This has to be the smallest flounder I’ve ever seen. Kinda cute when they’re little.
This one may not be a winner, but if you catch his daddy next year please display your TOCIFT badge proudly!

There were some strange, but lovable, characters at the 2018 TOCIFT auction. Originally, the furry poker game was parked in the lobby of the Katy Gallery Furniture when TOCIFT Director Curtis Denison found them. They were marked “Not For Sale,” but Jim McIngval (Mattress Mack), upon finding out that the purchase was for a worthy cause, sent the gang packing to a new home for the remarkable cost of $850. Anyone who knows taxidermy will know that this price was very generous.
The raccoons found themselves with new names and attire during the event and were a big hit as well as selling for $7500 in the auction. Thank you Mattress Mack for letting them join the party!

Take a gander at the other awesome fish caught in the Gulf by our anglers.
